Regular verbs of the third conjugation have an infinitive ending in -re: attendre (to wait for). To conjugate these verbs, remove the infinitive ending -re to get the stem, and then add the endings show in bold type.

attendre - re -> attend-

j' attends
tu attends
il/ell/on attend
nous attendons
vous attendez
ils/elles attendent

Attends-moi! J'arrive! Wait for me! I'm coming!
Ils ne répondent pas. They are not answering.
Vous vendez des journaux (newspaper) américains?
Ils vendent des saucissons.
Je ne perds pas de temps. I am not wasting any time.

The irregular verb prendre (to take) is conjugated like regular -re verbs in the singular, but not in the plural.

Je prends aussi une carte de téléphone.

Prendre is also used with means to transportation.
Je prends le bus, le métro (subway), l'avion (plane), le train ou un taxi.
Il prend sa bicyclette, sa moto et sa voiture (car).
